Culmination
Congratulations to the Class of 2009,  82% of whom qualified to participate in the Culmination Ceremony on June 19th.

Culmination is a privilege not a right within the school district.

Eighth Graders may not participate in the Culmination Ceremony or Activities if they:

Have not met LAUSD Promotion Requirements: A grade of D or above in both English and Math by the eligibility deadline, June 11, 2010.

Have more than one (1) fail OR two (2) U’s in work habits OR one (1) U in cooperation by the eligibility date, two weeks before culmination.

Have textbook, library or other debts.

Have engaged in serious acts of misbehavior.

Special Education
Eighth grade students with an IEP are expected to meet grade-level standards, follow the same matriculation requirements as students in the core program, as outlined in Section J of the Individualized Education Program (IEP). Through the IEP process, the individual needs of students are described and appropriate accommodations and/or modifications for instruction, assessment, and/or evaluation are
determined.

First semester F’s, in any course, may be made up by attending a 30-hour Extended Learning intervention program or an approved 30-hour community service project budget permitting.

A diploma will be given to non-culminating students who clear their “F’s” in summer school and return with a copy of the summer school report card.

The LAUSD culmination policy will be posted on this school website soon.

The LAUSD culmination policy, effective with the class of 2011 (current seventh graders), has changed and will be posted on the school website.
