Roads to Respect (room 210) March 9-11
Mr. Alvarez's class will have speakers from Roads to respect which is a highly interactive and solution-based program. Through a series of activities that include class discussion, role-playing and writing exercises student learn how to recognize sexual harassment when it occurs and are given information about steps they can take if they or their friends are targets of this form of abuse. |

POETRY AND PASTA NIGHT
YOU ARE INVITED! Thursday, March 11 6:00pm-8:00pm in the MTMS library. Come share student poetry, live music, and home-cooked pasta. Students will help parents write their own poems! Parents who bust a rhyme will be served dessert by a teacher! |

Seeking Ed Aide III AVID Tutor
AVID = Advancement Via Individual Determination! The AVID program is currently seeking two Ed Aide III AVID Tutors to support the academic development of AVID students, open access to rigorous curriculum, and also serve as role models for AVID students so that they are successful in Honors and Advanced Placement courses, and ultimately a four-year college. Thank you, GEAR UP!
The goal of the California GEAR UP state program is to develop and sustain the organizational capacity of middle schools to prepare ALL students for high school and postsecondary education through the establishment of a statewide network of support. Through their generous support, our parents attended the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) in the fall and four of our students will be selected in the spring to receive $2000 Education Trust Awards. The School Report Card
The 2008-2009 School Report Card was mailed to all families on January 19, 2010. This document provides a summary of over 600 individual schools summarizing performance data in areas such as graduation rates, student performance on standardized tests, English Learner progress, and how well connected students, parents, and employees are to the school. The School Report Card is a tool to help schools and families partner together for the sake of their children's success in education. Additional copies are available in the main office. |
